Description
Limited 180gm audiophile vinyl LP pressing. Including insert. White Crosses is the fifth album by the punk rock band Against Me!. The band, which is formed by singer and guitarist Laura Jane Grace, merged their punk rock style with a big arena rock sound. 'We're Breaking Up' is a good example of their new sound, where the emotion is built on top of their punk noise. Personal struggles can be found on album epic 'Suffocation'. The albums' single 'I Was a Teenage Anarchist' is their most successful hit, reaching the first place in the Canadian rock chart and #33 in the US rock chart. White Crosses shows how they have expanded both sonically as structurally and still have the power of their former days. Against Me! Reshaped the world of punk music by combining this genre with folk and alternative rock.

I live in Naples Florida, I'm in my fifties. Fortunately some family friends had kids that turned me on to Against me! way back in the day. I've been collecting and following them since. The progression of the band has been astounding and Laura Jane has captivated me, not because of how she identifies herself now but for being true to herself and coming out of the shadows and shedding some light on the transgender subject. She seems to be in a much better place now and is still writing and singing her heart out. Fans are fickle, the same kid's who turned me on were attending "Against, Against me! bar meetings" before concerts in Miami. Fans were unhappy that Against me! were selling out and were no longer "punk". One of these meeting ended up with an Against me! band member coming to the bar and asking "why" the hate? I heard a fight ensued. For me, everyone changes, everyone grows, nothing can remain the same. I'm thankful for the changes and truly believe that without them we wouldn't be listening to new and exciting music from Against me!. The original punk is still there, Tom's pipes are still there and Jane is still the driving force behind the band. Still loving them after all these years...
