i had the life-changing pleasure of seeing xavier rudd live at two festivals in a row while he was on his white moth tour. i remember standing on the earth, feeling like rudd's music was a conduit connecting me to something greater. this album comes very close to the live experience. i recommend that you listen to it very loud, outdoors, on a summer day.maybe it's because he uses aboriginal music as his inspiration, or maybe it's just because he f***ing rocks, but when xavier rudd goes off on the didgeridoo, i lose all sense of space and time. on the calmer songs, his lyrics uplift my soul. this album is my favorite, but they are all wonderful in their own right. i also highly recommend downloading the song "chant," which I believe is only sold as a single.
