Ween is my favorite band, "White Pepper" is one of their best albums, and every song on it is good. There is nothing about it that I don't like, other than the fact that I didn't buy it 5 years ago! I highly recommend it to any Ween fan that doesn't already own it. There are songs that make me laugh, songs that make me cry, there is instrumental/melodic/harmonic diversity, and I've listened to it several times a day since I took the wrapper off it and popped it in my disc drive! Even the CD jacket is pure genius-- a plain white cover with a picture of a single black-outlined bell pepper that is white(hence the title). When removed from the case and completely unfolded(4 pages), one side is blank white except for the plain white bell pepper on the front page; and, when flipped over, is the exact opposite-- a photograph of hundreds of bell peppers of every conceivable color BUT white(which, last time I checked, doesn't [yet]exist. The dichotomy of blank white(even the disc itself is white, completely blank), versus all the colors in the spectrum of peppers on the backside, illustrates the ironic genius of the artists. I think they might be emulating(mockingly), the Beatles' White Album. Even if you've never even heard of Ween, and like interesting and diverse music, I highly recommend it. If you don't like it, understand it, or find it "weird," listen to it again. If you're still not fond of it, listen to it a third time. If you still don't like it, your taste in music sucks!
