Product Description Cited as one of the earliest death/doom metal bands to come out of the US, Chicago’s Novembers Doom will release their ninth studio album titled – Bled White on July 15, 2014 via The End Records. Ever since their humble beginnings in 1989, the band has striven to create their own unique brand of dark, brooding and melancholic metal music. Constantly evolving and pushing the restrictions of minor genre tags, November’s Doom has created a unique and identifiable sound, making their mark in the metal world. Founded by vocalist/lyricist Paul Kuhr, the band quickly established themselves in the underground scene with the release of their first 7”, catching the attention of AvantGarde/Nuclear Blast in 1994. The following year Novembers Doom released their debut full length album, ‘Amid It’s Hallowed Mirth’ on AvantGarde/Nuclear Blast. The release quickly made waves in the metal scene with its intensely dense and heavily down-tuned riffs coupled with brutal male and beautiful operatic female vocals. In the following years, the band grew and changed, expanding their sound to new territories with the release of their EP ‘For Every Leaf That Falls’ and in 1999, their full-length ‘Of Sculptured Ivy & Stone Flowers.’ Shortly after their second full length release, guitarist Larry Roberts was added to the lineup and the band started to perform frequently outside their Midwest market. Late autumn of 2000 saw the release of the group’s third full-length opus ‘The Knowing’, an ambitious concept album that garnered the band some of their strongest reviews and marked a significant growth in their notoriety. With the recording of their fourth album ‘To Welcome The Fade’, the band enlisted Grammy winning producer Neil Kernon, best known for his work with acts like Hall & Oats, Kansas, Yes, Queensryche, Judas Priest, Nevermore and Cannibal Corpse, to man the helm, bringing a new power and clarity to the sound of the band. The group also embarked on their first National tour in support of the release, enlisting second guitarist Vito Marchese into the lineup. In 2005, Brooklyn-based indie label The End Records picked the band up for their fifth studio release, the critically acclaimed and fan favorite, ‘The Pale Haunt Departure’. This album, along with 2007’s ‘The Novella Reservoir’ and 2009’s ‘Into Night’s Requiem Infernal’, saw a massive musical growth for the band with the incorporation of producer/engineer Chris Wisco (Jungle Rot, Nachtmystium), mixing engineer Dan Swano (Bloodbath, Nightingale), and mastering engineer James Murphy (Death, Testament) to the team. During this time Novembers Doom began garnering international success by performing with bands such as Agalloch, Saturnus, Ajattara, and Nightingale, as well as performing high profile festival dates at Brutal Assault, Graspop Metal Meeting, Chaos Emergente’ and other festivals throughout western Europe. 2011 saw the release of their most ambitious album to date, ‘Apothic’. The album hit the shelves to some of the band’s strongest reviews and fan responses since their inception. More touring ensued, including special appearances at the Barge To Hell metal cruise, Denver Doom Fest II and a welcome return to the Brutal Assault festival in the Czech Republic. Now 2014 sees Novembers Doom preparing for the release of their ninth studio album, ‘Bled White’, scheduled for a July 15th release via The End Records. Constantly evolving and pushing the restrictions of minor genre tags, Novembers Doom has created a unique and identifiable sound, making their mark in the metal world. The band continues to grow and thrive with plans to tour the US and Europe in 2014 in support of their new studio release. Review "Novembers Doom have been around a long time, and if you haven't yet checked these guys out, you owe it to yourself to do so pronto. Bled White is another excellent release from this band, who just keep hitting one home run after another. If melodic, melancholy death metal mixed with doom, goth, prog, and folk sounds intriguing, then get your hands on this one." --4 Stars, Sea of Tranquility"Bled White certainly punches up the heaviness by about a hundredfold as thundering guitars accentuate Paul Kuhr s already pungent growls, whilst the drums are laid on as thick as ten pounds of iron stuffed into a hubcap burger." --9.5/10 The Grim Tower"Novembers Doom succeeds with Bled White, and this honest sense of expression alongside its cultivated conceptualdramatism will make this one of the top-tier highlights of the year." --9.1/10 Metal Wani
